Instructions For Using This Search Engine

• Family History Library microfilm numbers will have a range of 1 to 2500000.
• An exclusive LAFHL microfiche series will start with 38000000.
• Another exclusive LAFHL Scottish microfilm series will start with 40000001.
• Family History Library microfiche numbers will have a range of 6000000 to 6999999.
• Enter only one number at a time for one search.
• Do not enter commas.
• On the "results page" negative results will give "Film/Fiche number xxxxx NOT found at LA Regional Family History Center".

The LAFHL has about 154000 Film and Fiche numbers on file or a total of about 216000 of both.
Sometime there are many fiche with the same number.
You can look for them three different ways;
 1. Search by Film or Fiche Number OR
 2. Search by entering First partial or complete word OR
 3. Search by entering First and Second partial or complete words.
     Film or Fiche are found if  both partial or complete words in upper or lower case are in the locale or title.
